Miami Sports- The City of Champions

Sources tell the City of Champions that there are “grumblings” inside the Marlins front office about giving Johnson a contract extension. The source tells us that the Marlins have contacted him and they are in the beginning stages of such discussions. Another point made to us was that the Marlins are still monitoring Johson’s pitch counts (and have done so for the last 4 starts, we were told), something rare considering the Fish started that process while they were/are in the playoff picture, something you almost never see. Hopefully the Fish extend Johnson shortly, stay tuned!
