Excuse me while I remove the nostalgia tinted sunglasses….you know, the ones with memories of the funnest Marlin team in the history of the franchise, last year’s team, the one who did nothing but hit giant sweeping home runs..
The sunglasses are no longer needed my friends…This year’s team has made it’s grand arrival. The signs have been there for a few weeks: Ross Gload’s walkoff homer against the Braves last Tuesday, the Marlins taking 2 of 3 from the Boog Sciambi led Atlanta Braves, the tremendous trade for the ” real”Greek God of Walks, Nick Johnson, and finally culminating in today; the best moment of the season.

Back to back homers by Dan Uggla and Cody Ross in the bottom of the ninth sealed the win for the Marlins and secured the second series win in a row for the fighting fish. And it’s yet another sign as to why this is the best sport any human being has ever played. Three games back of the wild card…that’s it…three fucking games….oh, and the last two times the Marlins won the wild card? It ended with one of these:
