Canes are Bowl Eligible!

Sounds weird getting excited about that, no? In any case, the Canes have officially had a better season in 2008 than they had in 2007 as they win their 6th game of the season, offcially making themselves bowl elgible. Really exciting game today, as the Canes had to score late just to tie at 17, and then winning the game (24-17) on a lob pass to freshmen Aldarius Johnson in the first block of overtime…

- Jacory Harris once again asserted himself as the dominant QB going 12 of 21 for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns.

- Good lord, Graig Cooper is one fast dude. 24 carries on for 131 yards.

- Travis Benjamin was no where to be found today, as the first punt of the game hit his leg before being recovered by Virginia, and didn’t have a significant catch until the last drive of the game when he caught a deep pass down the left sideline on 3rd and 15.

- Give credit to Sean Spence and Lavon Ponder, as both stripped the Cavaliers of fumbles to give the Canes the win; Spence’s fumble late in the 4th, and Ponder’s in OT to give the Canes the W.
