Semi-breaking news: Quarterback Robert Marve has been suspended for the season opener against Charleston Southern for “events that have occurred in the past year”. In particular, according to the Miami Herald, is an incident involving Marve at Coconut Grove.
This “type” of suspension is always fascinating to us. Marve, it would seem, clearly gives the Canes the best shot to win games, so the suspension in and of itself is surprising; But if you peel back the layers, some of the intrigue goes away.
- What if the first game was against FSU? Any one else think that coach Shannon would sweep this under the rug, and no one would have heard of it?
- What would Marve have to do to be suspended against a GOOD team like the Gators in week 2?
- When Marve comes back, it’d be expected that he would regain the starting job over Jacory Harris, no?
