If you are a fan of the Dan Le Batard show, you know this man is an icon in sports radio. He is self-deprecating, and hilarious to boot (and 2nd from the left in the above picture). You’ve heard him plug his website , Dania-Jai Alai and Rogaine for Men, but only when they paid him! (those cheap bald fuckers!). Without further ado, we present to you, Hoch, the executive producer of the Dan Le Batard show and the engine that keeps the show running (My inner Stugotz forced that cliche on me.. I swear) Our questions in bold:
1) Today, and for the last 3+ years you have been the producer of the great Dan Le Batard show..what were you doing before this and what did you study etc. to get to where you are today, mayor of Dania Jai-Alai!
-I’ve worked in professional radio since I graduated University of Miami in 1991. I studied broadcasting for all 4 years at UM… My best friend in college was Dan. After college, I moved to West Palm Beach for a job as an air personality at Star 95.5fm… I bounced around in the West Palm market until Dan took the job at Sports Talk 790 and asked me to come along for the ride!
2) The show has obviously been successful, but what would be a few things you would want to change about the show extenuating circumstances aside? (perhaps less stugotz, no commercials etc.)
-I’m pretty happy with the show the way it is… Not certain there’s too much I’d change because they pretty much let me do whatever I want to do anyway!
3) Your gold, silver, and bronze medals in terms of the 3 funniest moments in show history according to you.
-3 funniest moments… that’s a tough one, cause I’m always laughing… Mickey Arison Stay White would be up there… Shula’s bathroom story is up there… A lot of the Family Fueds would be up there… I keep a file on my desktop of “funny segments” and there are a lot.
4) Fans of the show know that you guys have just signed a 3 year deal to stay with 790 the ticket, so I guess the next logical question would be to ask, if there are any plans to syndicate the show in its current format with something like Sporting News Radio to get you on the satellite radio map?
-We’ve had numerous offers to syndicate, but none of them the right offer. Don’t know what the future holds…
5) During the show, it is asked of the listeners to send it texts, so how many texts a show would approximate getting? 100’s? thousands?
-Never really paid attention, but I can say we easily get more than 1,000 texts per show…
6) How much outside of the show do you hang out with the crew (Mike Ryan, Stugotz, all the interns, Lebby etc.)
-We’ll go to dinner or lunch every now and then… I hang out more with Dan than anyone else because Dan and I have been friends since college…
7) Who would win in an arm wrestling match, you or Lebby?
-Lebby is twice my size and twice my weight, so he should kick my ass. But I have a lot of anger in me.
8 ) And on the way out…The top 5 Fakes in show history are whom
-Too many fakes to categorize… I love all of Caliendo’s fakes. LOVE Fake Howard… We need Fake Cortes.
I just came in my bed this morning when I realized this was not a dream. I actually really did interview hoch! If lebby comes on soon I will now fianlly know how amezega feels in a pile celebration. I feel like Tommy and Rich after an Amezega double if Lebby comes on then ill feel the homerun excitement

and i know you’re fairly new to the le batard show, but you’ll see how important hoch is the more you listen.. all the pop culture talk you hear, and the interesting discussions are bc of hoch.. not to mention all the multimedia things like the julio franco story being played behind jaws music lol

apparently he’s the engine like you say. i heard the Fake Susan Waldman on Friday that Hoch did a while back. that bit had me rolling in my office. i wish i could put a clip of that on my ipod. any idea where to get one.
